What do we believe?

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH:

  • In the Holy Bible as the inspired, infallible Word of God (II Timothy 3:15-17)

  • In one God, eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit
    (Deut. 6:4, Matt. 28:19, Mark 12:29)

  • That God created the heavens and the earth, and that man was created by God in His Own image but, by Adam's sin, became separated from God and is by nature sinful and guilty before God and unable to remedy his lost condition by himself (Gen. 1, Rom. 3:23 and 5:12-18)

  • In Jesus Christ, God's only Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Luke 1:26-35)

  • That Jesus Christ, after His sacrificial death and His resurrection, ascended to heaven and is in the position of all honor and power at God's right hand
    (Mark 16:19, I Peter 3:22)

  • That the salvation of sinful man is a free gift of God's grace apart from works, based solely upon Christ's atoning death, effected by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of men, and received by faith in Christ's finished work on the cross (John 3:5, Eph. 2:8-9, Titus 3:3-7)

  • In water baptism by immersion (Matt. 28:19, Acts 2:38 and 8:36-38)

  • In divine healing through the redemptive work of Christ
    (I Peter 2:24, Matt. 8:16-17, James 5:13-15)

  • In the baptism in the Holy Spirit accompanied by the gifts1 and fruit2 of the Spirit.  (1I Cor. 12, Acts 1 & 2, Romans 8, Eph. 4 - word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues.)  (2Galatians 5:22-23 - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.)

  • In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is able to live a holy life (Gal. 5:16, Hebrews 12:14)

  • In the fellowship together with other believers as the body of Christ, and that God has given leadership and supernatural gifts to the church
    (I Cor. 12:27-28, Hebrews 10:24-25)

  • In the second coming of Jesus Christ (Acts 24:15, Luke 14:14) and

  • In the resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation. (John 5:28-29)

APPLICATION OF PHILOSOPHY

All educational goals and objectives developed for the students attending Tri-unity Christian School, along with the programs and activities it offers, will be evaluated in light of the philosophy statement.

EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

How do we do it? Our philosophy of education begins with the understanding that the Christian school's role is to provide an education that helps prepare its students for a life of service to God and to others.  Christian education, therefore, becomes a process by which a believing student is being conformed to Christ-likeness and fitted for service in God's Kingdom.

To carry this out, Tri-unity Christian School has adopted a philosophy consisting of Three Basic Statements.

STATEMENT 1

God is the very nature and source of all truth. The Holy Bible, in which God has revealed Himself, is the foundation for all learning a Tri-unity Christian School. We, therefore, endeavor to teach about life, reality, truth, and values form a biblical viewpoint, giving God pre-eminence rather than man (Romans 11:36, Colossians 1:15-18, II Timothy 3:14-17)

STATEMENT 2

The primary responsibility for educating children rests upon the parents in accordance with the Word of God. Because the school is an extension of the home, its authority is delegated by the parents.  Teachers stand en loco parentis ("in the place of the parent") during the school day.  (Deuteronomy 4:9-10, 6:6-7, Psalms 78:4-7, Proverbs 22:6, Matthew 28:19-20, Ephesians 6:4).

STATEMENT 3

We endeavor to develop in the students a thoroughly Christian world and life view.  This view will govern their lives and enable them to relate the Christian faith to daily life decisions.  Conformity to the image of Christ, fellowship with God, the development of Christian character, the desire for a life-long pursuit of knowledge and wisdom, and personal excellence in all areas will be emphasized at Tri-unity Christian School (Proverbs 4:5-7, Luke 2:52, Ephesians 4:11-16, Philippians 3:12-14).
